During april, film critic johannes binotto presents at the stadtkino basel in switzerland a movie series on the topic «TAT/ORT Fatal Architectures in Cinema» including suspiria and argento favourite secret beyond the door... by fritz lang.

The egyptian theatre in hollywood is showing bird with the crystal plumage on friday april 21st at 19:30 as well as four flies on grey velvet on sunday april 23rd at 18:30.

'While at dinner with Steven Katz, co-writer of Revolution's upcoming Wind Chill, it was revealed to B-D that the remake of Suspiria "probably will not happen at this point." No reason was given other than how long its been on the back burners. Writer of the remake's screenplay, Katz informed us that the biggest challenge in writing the script was finding a reason for the witches to be using a dance academy for their evil-doings. In his version the witches use the school as a recruiting ground for new witches. In Dario Argento's classic original from '77, a young American dancer travels to Europe to join a famous ballet school. As she arrives, the camera turns to another young woman, who appears to be fleeing from the school. She returns to her apartment where she is gruesomely murdered by a hideous creature. Meanwhile, the young American is trying to settle in at the ballet school, but hears strange noises and is troubled by bizarre occurrences. She eventually discovers that the school is merely a front for a much more sinister organisation.'

Dom omladine in belgrade will be screening 4 of dario’s films on the 25th of march as part of 3 day italian horror film festival. The films that will be shown are l'uccello dalle piume di cristallo - 15:00, profondo rosso - 17:00, phenomena - 19:00 and opera - 21:00.
It was announced that Argento himself is scheduled to attend the festival. |

From an italian fan:
"Yesterday Dario Argento came to visit the Profondo Rosso store meeting his fans and signing autographs. Then Argento himself has also guided a TV crew from British BBC Television to film his Dario Argento's Museum of Horrors in the dungeons of the store.
While being here and talking with his fans, Dario Argento has said that the start of his new horror movie The Third Mother has been delayed to next September.
In the meanwhile Dario Argento plans most probably to leave on April the 5th to Los Angeles and then to Vancouver to shoot a second episode in the American Home Box Office series titled Masters of Horror." |

Giallo
(pronounced 'djallo, plural gialli) is an italian 20th century genre of literature and film, which in italian indicates crime fiction and mystery. In the English language, however, it is used in a broader meaning that is closer to the french fantastique genre, including elements of horror fiction and eroticism.
The word giallo is Italian for "yellow" and stems from the origin of the genre as a series of cheap paperback novels with trademark yellow covers.
