Welcome to the largest site on the internet dedicated to Dario Argento - one of the most stylish and visually imaginative director's alive today. This is not intended to be a sycophantic 'shrine' to him but a place for information and enlightenment and hopefully you will leave knowing more than when you came. There are all sorts of cool things within these pages - reviews, filmographies, biographies, interviews, slideshows, video/audio downloads and a forum. For an attempt at explaining why I like his films, click here

mot is a hit!
Alan Jones writes:

"Hi Nick, the Italian box-office figures are in for LA TERZA MADRE and they are great. The film has taken over 1.5 million euros to date and looks to double that over this weekend. Dario has a sizeable mainstream hit on his hands. He's already asked his American two writers on that project, Jace Anderson and Adam Gierasch, to work with him again on another horror. They are hosting a special screening of the film in their home town Los Angeles tonight with a specially filmed Argento intro. Wish them well."

suspiria 'definitive edition'? complete rubbish!
The new dvd release of suspiria from CDE in italy has been ruined due to some over zealous restoration according to whiggles. Just look at the screenshots in his comparison with the anchor bay release:

Giallo
(pronounced 'djallo, plural gialli) is an italian 20th century genre of literature and film, which in italian indicates crime fiction and mystery. In the English language, however, it is used in a broader meaning that is closer to the french fantastique genre, including elements of horror fiction and eroticism.

The word giallo is Italian for "yellow" and stems from the origin of the genre as a series of cheap paperback novels with trademark yellow covers.
